Crazy I was never, but nervous, yes
For that old man's eye, made me such a mess;
That blue eye scared me, by night and by day,
Then I made up my mind; he was going to pay.
Kill him I would, for his hideous eye,
At night, on him, I was going to spy.
For a week, yes, for exactly one week
At night I looked at him, never did I speak
Cunningly I thrust my head through his door;
But I never set foot on that room's floor.
Then, the dark cloaked lantern, I brought it in;
I undid a bit, the single ray so thin.
On his eye it fell, the thin ray of light,
And the eye was closed,
